Misfortune seems to dog
Tanzanian Bongo musician, Lucas Mkeda (a.k.a. Mr. Nice). The crooner, who was
still nursing injuries inflicted on him by compatriot singer Dudubaya, was last
week involved in a road accident. His manager, Papa King Mollel, says the
musician was involved in accident while traveling from Tanga to Arusha. He is
recuperating in Arusha.
Mr. Nice was recently
beaten up by Dudu Baya after a bragging contest between them got nasty. The
musician, enjoying popularity in east and central Africa, has been embroiled in
popularity contests with other Tanzanian musicians who want to "cut his
influence". In fact, the Dudu Baya beating is viewed as a way of ‘teaching him a
lesson’. A few months ago, Mr. Nice denied statutory rape allegations after he
was accused of being involved with a minor.
